About Us
Ridtag had its origins in the 80s, beginning on the back of an old hay wagon situated on a dairy farm. The founder of Ridtag, Kirk Allen, was raised on a dairy farm in Idaho, where there happened to be a hay wagon that could have easily been categorized as a “red tag area.” Kirk dedicated a significant amount of time on that wagon, attempting to repurpose the old fittings and various spare parts.
As he grew older, he held various jobs where he was responsible for disposing of old inventory, junk, and surplus items. One company even went to the extent of purchasing several semi-trailers to store surplus items, in addition to cramming them into hallways, mezzanines, and warehouses.
Kirk recognized that many businesses could benefit from assistance in eliminating unnecessary items, and this realization ultimately led him to establish Ridtag, with the aim of providing businesses with superior options for managing and disposing of surplus items.
